How to Use Manic Panic Hair Dye

New to semi-permanent hair dye? Here's what to know before you start:

• Patch test first. Always patch test 24–48 hours before use to check for allergies, and strand test to preview your final shade.
• Gather your kit. You'll need an old towel, gloves, a tint brush, and a dye bowl.
• Protect your hairline. Apply Vaseline or baby oil along your hairline to prevent staining.
• Lighten for vibrancy. For the boldest results — especially with lighter shades like Blue Steel — bleach your hair first.
• Dyeing dark hair? Without bleaching, expect subtle highlights and a hint of colour rather than a full vibrant change.

Applying the dye: Use a tint brush to fully saturate hair from root to tip. Always check the pack instructions for timing and whether to apply on wet or dry hair. Rinse with cold water to help seal the hair cuticle and lock in colour.
