Manic Panic High Voltage® Classic Hair Colour 118ml (Purple Haze®)

The Manic Panic purple hair dye collection consists of 8 different shades and 3 product types, which you can use to transform your everyday look. Our most popular range, the High Voltage Classic Colour, provides depth and vivid appeal when it comes to our purple formulas. Our deepest shade within this colour range is Violet Night, a bold tone with the ability to create an extended, long-lasting result on a pre-lightened base; its highly pigmented formula also makes this shade a great option for darker natural hair colours. You could also try Manic Panic Purple Haze on dark hair. This shade is likely to provide a purple tint to darker hair colours that can be seen at their brightest under certain lights, such as sunlight.

Alternatively, are you looking for a lighter or brighter purple tone to wear every day? Velvet Violet from our Creamtones Perfect Pastels range is our most subtle shade of purple. This light purple hair dye is a great colour; however, it is difficult to maintain compared to more pigmented shades. All pastel hair dyes require a very light blonde and evenly toned base; these pastel formulas are not able to lighten the hair at all and will not show on a darker hair colour. Let’s take you through some of our favourite Manic Panic purple hairstyles and transformations so you can better understand just what these shades are capable of!

Two Tone Purple

If you like the idea of combining two different shades or colours for your new hair look, why not try a two tone purple hair transformation? @hairbygeorgiaa_ created this awesome checkerboard style using Violet Night in its original form, and a pastelized version of Violet Night too. This beautiful purple hair application has provided Georgia’s client with the best of both worlds by combining these two different tone types. You could try this two tone style with a variety of different placements, such as split dye or create a balayage effect with your colours that seamlessly blend into each other.

If you are not keen on colouring all of your hair, but would like to add a pop of colour somehow, we love a dip dye effect. Manic Panic UK ambassador @emdoeshair232 created this beautiful dip dye hair purple galaxy look using this method with the incorporation of some other Manic Panic shades. Dip dyeing is a simple application process that allows the rest of your hair to remain natural; the colour is painted onto the tips of the hair, and a seamless blend is created. Emma’s top tip is to blend your colours into the hair when it is wet; this creates a more seamless blend.

Statement Fringe

There are plenty of purple hairstyles to try, but if you want to draw some attention, we’re loving this statement fringe application by @kitti_at_the_art_house. Using Purple Haze, Plum Passion and Hot Hot Pink, this vivid purple is sure to stand out and provide a long-lasting purple hair dye moment for you to enjoy! A full fringe is a classic and simple to colour; however, you could have a vibrant side fringe, curtain bangs, or even purple money pieces - it’s totally your choice!

Now that you’ve got some ideas for your future Manic Panic purple hair, how are you going to keep your colour and hair looking fresh daily? There are many different ways to keep on top of your purple hair care. Firstly, make sure you've got yourself a bottle of the Manic Panic Purple Rose Love Color™ Conditioner. These vibrantly toned formulas can be neutralised for your pastel needs, deepened by adding other tones, or completely transformed, but they provide a quick colour refresh in between applications!

Those more intense purple hair dye formulas are likely to create a longer-lasting result; however, these shades will still fade over time, and they can even bleed in certain situations. Colour bleeding most often occurs when the body or hair gets hot, as this causes the cuticle and hair pores to open and, in turn, release the pigment. To protect your colour for longer, try these top tips:

Wash your hair less
Wash your hair in cool/cold water
Use only sulphate and paraben-free shampoo and conditioner
Avoid applying heat to your hair through styling or washing
Wear a hat when in the direct sunlight
Wear a bonnet when going to bed

Lastly, your hair and colour will love a treatment. If you wash your hair only once a week, treat your hair to a treatment with the Mermaid Hair Repair Mask, a vegan hair mask designed to protect and nourish semi-permanent dyed hair!

There’s always a purple hair trend to try, and with this information and inspiration, you should be well on your way to picking the perfect colour and placement for you! If you have any other questions before dyeing your hair, feel free to contact our team at sales@manic-panic.co.uk, We’d be happy to help.
