Salon International London 2023; a weekend for true inspiration, education and opportunity and this year’s event did not disappoint. The whole weekend was a whirlwind of extraordinary demonstrations, fantastic products and creating awesome relationships between brands, experienced professionals and the next generation. The London ExCel was filled with extraordinary talent across the whole industry demonstrating and educating, through a variety of techniques, exactly what is on the market for all salon professionals to utilise and explore within their own environments.

Across the weekend, the Manic Panic team welcomed crowds of visitors from all over the globe to enjoy and familiarise themselves with our vibrant semi-permanent products. As a true representation of the brand, the Manic Panic stand stood out as a vibrant and transformative area that echoed the creativity and unique ability of the products. Throughout the show, the atmosphere on the Manic Panic stand was filled with constant electricity; the team were on hand to explain and demonstrate the versatility of all our vegan products and how each of them fit in within the professional salon environment. As well as the iconic popular hair dyes and hair care products that are so well known, Salon International was also the first opportunity to introduce what is to come from Manic Panic. Alongside those more familiar products were some of the exciting new ranges that are soon to be introduced to Manic Panic; watch this space!

Not only were we joined by our fantastic sales team, three of our talented Manic Panic Ambassadors also joined us throughout the event. Verity Clarke and Emma Pullen, Manic Panic UK Ambassadors and Mykey O’Halloran, Manic Panic NYC Global Ambassador were on stage several times with their unique and creative demonstrations.

The Demonstrations

First to the Manic Panic stage was Verity Clarke on Saturday morning. Verity created a vibrant pink moment with rainbow roots and a neon finish and the reactions were phenomenal. As well known as the UV reactive hair dye from Manic Panic, the initial reaction to just how neon they can glow always puts a giant smile on our faces! As soon as that blacklight hit the top of Verity’s model’s hair, we watched the jaws drop throughout the crowd. Verity has been a part of the Manic Panic UK family for many years and always manages to draw in an extensive and varied audience, all with different backgrounds within the industry but all share the same interest in creating unique and stand-out transformations.

Verity also took to the stage on the Monday of Salon International 2023. A key day for Manic Panic as the majority of visitors were students eager to learn and become familiar with new brands. We are extremely keen to gain the interest of those who are just beginning their career within the hair industry and prove that vivid colours hair is not something to be wary of or to be avoided. Verity was able to provide that assurance in Monday’s demonstrations, talking in depth about the process of using the dyes, the styling and the maintenance that is key for all clientele.

Master of the epic hair rainbow, Mykey O’Halloran also joined us on the Manic Panic stand over the Salon International weekend. As ever, Mykey drew in some amazing crowds with his vibrant demonstrations and many came with their questions prepared. On Saturday, Mykey demonstrated how the Manic Panic dyes work on a darker base and created a gradual rainbow look. Manic Panic is advertised to be applied on a pre-lightened light blonde base but our highly pigmented tones can be applied to a darker base to create a deep hue.

Mykey could also be found on the stage on Sunday when he created a truly Unicorn Manes-style rainbow, full of vibrancy using a range of the Manic Panic colours. Mykey thoroughly explained his process and the products used to create his look from dye products to the hair care during the rinse. Not only was Mykey a hit on the stage, but throughout the weekend many were queuing to get their picture with the Manic Panic Ambassador, blown away by the vibrancy of his appearance from the bright rainbow hair to his incredible outfits!

The final ambassador to make an appearance on the Manic Panic stand was Emma Pullen. This was Emma’s first Salon International show experience let alone her first demonstration in front of groups of visitors and passers-by and her final look created an amazing atmosphere. Emma chose to create a more seasonal look by using a mixture of deep and light tones that each held a warm undertone; this turned out to be the perfect autumnal look. Emma was also able to demonstrate her own unique way of working with the Manic Panic colours that don’t require using mesh to separate the individual colours. Joined on stage by Mykey halfway through, the two were able to discuss Emma’s process in detail and answer any questions from the audience.
