Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink hair dye is one of the more popular shades from the collection. The vibrant and bold appearance of this shade has become a real trend-setter within the colourful hair community and will withhold its popularity for a while longer still. This shade is sure to make any user stand out, and if you’re looking to rock this colour for as long as possible try Manic Panic Amplified Hot Hot Pink with 30% more pigmentation added to its formula.

If you like having vivid coloured hair but would prefer to try something a little more toned down, we suggest shades such as Manic Panic Pretty Flamingo or Cotton Candy Pink. Both known to be lighter in colour without delving into the pastel side of the spectrum, these shades will still pack a punch when it comes to their vibrant appearance.

Due to the lightness of these shades, it is important that they are applied to a pre-lightened base to achieve their true vibrancy. As they are both also part of the Manic Panic UV hair dye range, this sort of light base will encourage this feature to work to its full potential!

Do I need to bleach my hair before applying Manic Panic pink dye?

You may find that particular colours will not require a full pre-lightening session to achieve some sort of colour. Manic Panic Fuschia Shock on brown hair may achieve a deeper version of its colour, but the base will need to be no lower than a level 4. Once hair passes a level 4 unbleached brown base and begins to enter darker territory that is almost black, the colour will struggle to show at all.

Lighter shades such as Cotton Candy Pink Manic Panic will require a pre-lightened base no less than a level 8 to achieve its colour.

It’s also important to note that a pre-lightened base not only allows the colour to intensify better, but also allows the hair to hold the colour for longer. Due to the porosity of bleached hair, you will find that your colour lasts longer than on unbleached hair.

How do the UV colours work?

Within the Manic Panic hair dye shades, you will find a variety of colours are made with specific substances that allow your hair to glow beneath specialized UV lights.

When using these fantastic glow in the dark hair dyes, it is important that the hair is pre-lightened to a level 9+. Leaving your hair unbleached when applying these UV formulas won’t allow the glow in the dark feature to work to its full potential when under black light. Also, whilst Manic Panic customers are encouraged to mix and combine different colours to achieve a unique shade, unfortunately, the mix of a Manic Panic non-UV dye with a Manic Panic UV hair dye will result in the dilution of the UV substances lessening the effectiveness of this feature.

Maybe you’re not quite ready to take that leap into brighter and bolder pink hair. Manic Panic has got you covered! You could try the Manic Panic Amplified Temporary Colour Spray in Cotton Candy. These sprays are perfect if you’re looking to try out a new colour before totally committing or if you fancy a quick change up of your look for a single night as they will remove in one wash.

TOP TIPS TO KEEP YOUR COLOUR LASTING AND SHINING

When washing your hair, use sulphate and silicone-free colour safe hair products. These will work to lessen the fade rate of your colour and keep your hair in good health whilst coloured. At Manic Panic we have the perfect haircare range for your coloured hair needs from maintaining it, to correctly prepping your hair for a new Manic Panic colour application.

Before dyeing your hair, it is important to deeply cleanse your hair, but do not condition prior. Try the Manic Panic Prepare To Dye clarifying shampoo.

Always wash your coloured hair in cold water and avoid certain activities or processes that may contribute to stripping the colour from your hair such as heat styling, swimming etc.

The longer you can go between washes the better, dry shampoo is your best friend!

When you do wash your hair, make sure to condition well. Conditioner helps to lock your colour in.
